<sup>Sludge drying is an intermediate sludge treatment process that consists of evaporating the water in the sludge. Sludge drying is the process of transforming sludge into useful products or green fuel. Removal of water reduces storage volume and transportation costs. It significantly reduces the volume and weight of the sludge so that it is easier to recover.

Sludge is the industrial waste generated during the production process of municipal sewage processing. Because sludge has many disadvantages such as high moisture content, high viscosity, high water holding capacity, and low calorific value. It is difficult to achieve industrial utilization. Jiutian operated a series of technical researches on the current market situation of sludge treatment and the characteristics of sludge in various regions. Jiutian Company concentrating created a new generation of sludge rotary drum drying system, drying product moisture can be reduced less than 25%, it totals achieved the standard of sludge landfill and further incineration processing conditions. <sup>Jiutian sludge drum dryer is mainly composed of heat source, dispersing feeder, belt feeder, rotary drum, belt discharger, induced draft fan, dust collector, deodorization device and power distribution cabinet. The working principle of the sludge drying equipment is as follows: the wet sludge with a moisture content of about 80% has a certain viscosity. After entering the tumble dryer for drying, the wet sludge is divided into the following six drying working areas after entering the tumble dryer:
1. In the material guide area, the wet mud enters this area and contacts with the high temperature hot air to quickly evaporate the water, and the material is transferred to the next work area if it does not form a bond under the copying plate with a large lead angle;
2. Repeated crushing, beating, and cleaning area. The equipment in this area is designed with crushing, beating, and cleaning devices. The wet mud is picked up by the grid-shaped copying board, crushed and beating. It forms a material curtain state, increases the heat exchange area, improves the drying rate, and the cleaning device reasonably cleans the mud adhered to the inner wall to prevent the wet mud from sticking;
3. In the main drying area, the wet mud processed in the second area has been in a granular and loose state. The material is picked up by the inclined lifting plate in this area to form a uniform material state, fully heat exchange with hot air, and strong precipitation;
4. Beating, crushing and drying area, in this area, the mud is repeatedly beaten and broken, and the mud particles are broken from 20-40mm to 10-20mm (customer required particle size), and the moisture is further reduced;
5. Strengthen the drying area, the crushed small particle mud is lifted from the area by the dense copy board, fully absorbs the heat of the hot air, discharges the moisture, meets the moisture requirement standard, and is ready to be discharged;
6. In the discharge area, in order to prevent dust from discharging, the drum does not have a copy plate in this area. The material rolls and slides to the discharge port, and the sludge moisture is reduced to about 20-25% and discharged from the dryer to complete the entire drying process.</sup>

 

^{Dust removal and deodorization equipment: This system adopts a four-stage dust removal and deodorization method. The first-stage cyclone dust collector can remove dust particles from exhaust gas; the second-stage acid washing method removes the odor gas, the third-stage uses the alkali washing method to remove the odor gas; the fourth-stage uses the ultraviolet ray decomposition method. The final odor gas can be controlled within 2000 dimensionless.}

6. The new sludge drying equipment achieves "zero horizontal thrust", which greatly reduces the wear of the retaining roller, and the cylinder runs smoothly and reliably;
7. The dryer adopts "aligning roller device", so that the cooperation between the roller and the rolling ring is always in linear contact, thus greatly reducing the wear and power loss;
8. The unique large sludge delay drying technology is adopted to ensure the uniformity of coal slime drying</sup>.
